Simple Tip - HEAL THE ROOT!!!
Listen… There will always be pain. That’s life and there is no way around it.

You can attempt to sugar coat it..
You can try to hide and pretend like all is well..
You can try to eat and sleep your way out of how you feel. .
You can try to bury it in the company of others..
You can even push back so far back in depths of your subconscious that you feel like it doesn’t exist..
But the truth is you can try a host of things but the only real answer is to heal the root. And that means you have to face and more importantly feel it so you can get through it.

I spent many years trying to pacify my hurt with unhealthy friendships, food and spending frenzies when my funds allowed. I’m sure many wondered with my background (health and fitness) how I allowed my body to become so out of shape. But the truth was that my body wasn’t in such poor condition because I didn’t work out, because I’ve always been active (overweight or otherwise). It was because internally I was devastated and was attempting to use anything I could to keep from feeling that pain.
Then that moment came when I realized I couldn’t live like I was anymore. Sometimes you will go through quite a bit before you hit that breaking point. That shattering is just breaking up the “old” to build the “new”.
The first thing I did was stop letting people piss (for lack of a better word) on my soul. And severed ties to negative relationships. One of the hardest things I did because I was so used to the dysfunction that it had become the norm for me. I then began journaling. I had been holding on to pain for too long without any real release. Journaling gave me just that. Those pen strokes did not come without an abundance of tears. But it was just what I needed to begin my process of letting go and healing.
Once I dealt with the root, I began to focus on my external being. I worked on changing my habits and found a goal (sprint triathlon) to focus on to get me started. I finished my first triathlon weighing 230lb proving to myself that physically I was capable. My weight yo-yoed for a couple of years before I finally found my footing and I never looked back.
I share with you this piece of my story to simply tell you this..
